Mary Chris Ong (MC), LSW

Education & Background

MC (she/her) has a background in mental health, Trauma, and Child
Advocacy and Policy. She specializes in guiding individuals though, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and complex emotions. She utilizes a Psychodynamic Approach, Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches to help others manage their emotions and build resilience. MC received her Masters in Social Work from Rutgers State University School of Social Work.

MC will listen deeply and attune to your needs, along with holding a space of compassion and understanding. The journey can feel dark at times, and her role is to hold the light and guide you as you heal and build a life that feels authentic and true to you.

MC believe’s you are the expert of your own life and have the innate ability to grow and make meaningful changes. She is highly engaged and thoughtful, helping you to connect with yourself, others, and the world in new and profound ways.

Together, we focus on identifying your underlying motives and desires, which can shape your behavior and experiences. She is highly engaged and involved during sessions, ensuring we thoughtfully and thoroughly explore your concerns and issues. My training includes, trauma, child advocacy, interpersonal violence tailored to various communities including Asian American, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and children of immigrants.
