Education & Background
Michelle (she/her) is a Licensed Social Worker with a passion for supporting children, adolescents, and emerging adults through life’s challenges. She earned her Master of Social Work from Rutgers University and holds her Bachelor degree in Psychology with a minor in Children’s Studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Michelle also completed certifications in School Social Work and in LISTA (Latinx Initiatives for Service, Training, and Assessment) at Rutgers, further deepening her commitment to culturally responsive care. She often volunteers with Good Grief, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing peer support for children and families who are experiencing significant loss. As a proud advocate for the Latinx community and as an LGBTQ+ affirming clinician, Michelle brings a strong sense of empathy, inclusivity, and cultural humility to her work.
Approach
Michelle believes that a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful growth. She takes a person-centered, eclectic approach, working collaboratively with clients to identify their goals and develop practical, personalized tools for achieving them. Her practice draws on a range of modalities to help clients manage adversity, build healthier relationships, strengthen self-esteem, and deepen self-awareness. Above all, Michelle strives to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, empowered, and understood."
