Education & Background

Naomi (she/her) earned a BS in communications and psychology from Boston University, and began a career in kids marketing at various advertising agencies, television networks and magazines. While working full time, Naomi obtained an MFA in creative writing for children from the New School. While raising her own children, she completed yoga teacher certifications for both kids and adults and created an after-school program designed to help girls build inner and outer strength through yoga and journaling. Naomi became a certified teen girl life coach and founded UPGiRL LLC, adding confidence coaching to her girl empowerment offerings. Currently, Naomi is pursuing a Master’s degree in counseling from Northwestern University. She is committed to supporting individuals and couples in navigating anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and significant life changes such as divorce and parenting.

Approach

Naomi believes in collaboration, connection, and compassion in working with clients to help them achieve their wellness goals. She utilizes an integrative approach, blending evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing and Psychodynamic theory, with ancient philosophies like mindfulness, self-compassion, and yoga. Naomi brings warmth, empathy and humor to her clinical work, and strives to establish a trusting relationship in which clients feel safe and empowered to create meaningful change. Naomi welcomes clients of all cultural identities, and is particularly passionate about working with women and girls and their challenges with self-esteem and relationship health.
